     When we as Americans think of top fashion designs we often think of European Designers and mod avant-garde looks. Well we have our own European Designer right here in little old Colorado Springs. Her name is Annemarie Algermissen and her company FashionDesigns.us is illuminating what previously was only visible to the monetarily blessed; Custom Fashion Design! Ms. Algermissen with over 30 years of design experience has made her talents vividly clear by way of the Internet. FashionDesigns.us has had the honor of designing wears for celebrities from New York to Hollywood, formal capes for opera singers to one of a kind wedding gown creations for brides.

    Ms. Algermissen, a new American Citizen as of August of 2003 does not take her citizenship lightly nor does she take it for granted. After speaking with her it doesn't take one long to see a true American. Born and raised in a small town near Cologne, Germany where her fantasy and imaginative creativity in design began, she caught the interest of her local community. Annermarie then made her way to USA in 1996 and is now realizing the American Dream.

    Through the unique display of her custom designs via streaming videos and mouse over effects that turn the models to show the posterior views of her magical apparel and an obvious recognition of her pure talent and proficiency, Ms. Algermissen has captured the interest of nationally acclaimed publications. Studio Sunshine a division of FashionDesigns.us was recently featured in the Web Watch section of "Pageantry" Magazine and an incredible full-length custom cape adorned the cover of Dive Training Magazine Caribbean Carnival Edition.

     FashionDesigns.us specializes in custom fashion apparel designs to include such items as wedding gowns, formal evening gowns, formal capes, dresses for Debutant Balls and Proms, suits for executive women, Renaissance clothing and costumes. Some of the other artistic services offered are wardrobe duplication, tailoring and alterations and gown redesign and refurbishment.

     FashionDesigns.us allows for you to have the design idea, drawing or photograph of your formal gown, cape or costume and they create it. Ms. Algermissen says that many of the most stunning and elaborate designs have been conceived by her clients’ willingness to sketch their dream garments and describe with detail the movement, texture and colors of the fabrics.

     Annemarie's company carries most all fabrics and specialty high-end fabrics such as silk, satin and velvets in a very wide variety of colors so you don't have to bother with fabric stores. They also maintain a large volume of fabric samples online. Most of the fabrics come from New York, Los Angeles and India.

     FashionDesings.us and Studio Sunshine have participated in several fashion shows and bridal shows in Colorado and you can enjoy a wonderful display of the custom works at the upcoming Wedding Fashion show hosted by Great Events at the Wyndham Hotel and Resort in Colorado Springs on February 8, 2003. FashionDesigns.us will also be the featured designer in an upcoming fashion show held in Colorado Springs in mid March. This event will benefit the Native American Children's Fund and is a black tie affair. (This event will be featured live via web cast on ColoradoSprings.TV.)      Discussing the idea of creating wardrobe previously only imagined and fantasized about seemed to be a very hot topic for a local group of ladies briefly interviewed about the subject. I realized this to be a subject with great interest as the interviewees quickly became impassioned and involved in the discussion without remembering I was present.
